Travel Information

VISA Requirements

A VISA to enter the United States is required by many countries. Some countries are allowed a VISA-Waiver. Please check the following Website for more information http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov and procedures.

The Secretariat will ONLY issue letters confirming registration to those people who are FULLY REGISTERED for the conference.

If you are unsure please check with the United States Embassy/Consulate in your country.

Weather & Clothing

The dress code of the conference will be smart casual wear. It can get quite cold in November so we advise you pack a coat and other warm clothing. It has been warmer (up to 27 °C in 2003) so check weather before you leave home.

Climate Average

November: Max 11 °C (53 °F) , Min 1 °C (33 °F) .

Rainfall 100.8 mm (3.97 in).

Electricity Supply

Line voltage in the USA is 110/120 Volt AC, 60Hz.
If you intend to bring your own devices / appliances you may be need two things:

1) An adapter plug

2) your device must be prepared to be switched to 110/120 V, otherwise you either can't use it or you have to buy a (relatively heavy and expensive) voltage converter, which is not advised. Better consider to buy devices especially designed for travel purposes - they're mostly small, light-weighted and of course switchable to 110/120V.

Laptops, mobile-phone charger etc.
This kind of travel proofed gear is always capable to adapt to 110/120 V and vice versa to 220/240 V. They come with an voltage converter by nature, all what you will need is a adapter for the plug.
