Monday 21st May 2007
The HGVS organises two one day meetings per year as a
forum for scientists to exchange ideas and form collaborations. The meetings
are designed to update and increase knowledge of human genome variation
and generally attract a stimulating and interesting collection of abstracts
in all fields of human genome variation making it an ideal forum to share
information and results. Topics include: bioinformatics, mutation databases,
genetic diversity, ethical issues, legal issues, methodology, complex
traits, nomenclature issues and other topics. We invite all those interested
in human genome variation especially bioinformatics and disease causing
mutations to submit abstracts.
HGVS will be joining the American Society of Human Genetics
in Toronto, Canada as a satellite meeting. The afternoon portion of the
meeting (from 5:00PM) will be devoted to the Annual General Meeting of
the HGVS where business issues will be discussed. We hope all members
are able to attend, non-members are welcome. After the meeting we will
relax and mingle with some refreshments.
We are seeking a sponsored lecture.
All interested companies please contact R. Horaitis.
Previous meeting reports are available here.
