A Satellite meeting to HUGO's Human Genome Annual Meeting

5th March - THE MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED

HGVS regrets to announce that its Montpellier Meeting Informatics for Next Generation Sequencing has had to be cancelled due to the late announcement by HUGO of the HGM2010 timetable. The HGM2010 progamme commences much earlier than in previous years resulting in a schedule clash with the HGVS meeting. We apologise to our members and supporters, but hope to hold a meeting on the same topic in the near future. The next HGVS meeting will be held as a CONFIRMED Satellite to ASHG on 2nd Nov. 2010, the Website will be available soon

It is with great pleasure, on behalf of the Human Genome Variation Society that we extend a warm invitation to our conference. This is a 1 day comprehensive Conference that will satellite HUGO's Human Genome Meeting in the same venue.

This meeting will take place at Le Corum in Montpellier, France. We encourage you to participate by registering and submitting your abstract for an oral or poster presentation, or simply join us to meet others. So, come along and immerse yourself in, not only an educational meeting, but also a warm and friendly meeting.

Informatics for Next Generation Sequencing

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) holds enormous promise to the genomics community, as the speed of sequencing increases and costs fall. Yet this promising tool is a two-edged sword - most organisations are simply not yet equipped to deal with the vast quantities of data that will be produced, either in terms of storage capacity, processing power, or processing methodologies.

As a follow-up to our highly successful "Impact of Next Generation Sequencing" meeting in Honolulu, October 2009, this meeting will bring together experts at the leading edge of NGS informatics with those who are looking to use NGS in the future. Please join us in Montpellier to share methodologies, analytic tools, and experiences, and help ease the pain of potential data overload.
