MDI NEWS-

Allele Variant Entry Form.

Two more drafts of the proposed MDI allele variant entry form were done in the last 2 months. Comments were received from 34 members and alterations were made. A new draft has almost been completed by Dick Cotton who has addressed the concern that the form is too long. The new draft and hopefully the last will be on the site in the next couple of days and I'll send an email when it is available for comment. http://ariel.ucs.unimelb.edu.au:80/~cotton/entry.htm

San Francisco Meeting.

This year we have invited speakers to cover important issues such as copyright & intellectual property of databases, patient aspects of databases and the ethics of databases. We hope discussion will be promoted on these issues. The Preliminary Program is included below. A fee will be charged to cover our costs. If any members particularly wish to speak then please let us know as soon as possible. Poster Abstracts and other ideas are welcome. If you wish to attend, please send your registration form in as soon as possible. The meeting website is: http://ariel.ucs.unimelb.edu.au:80/~cotton/announ.htm

Proposed Vancouver Meeting.

A meeting has been proposed in association with the Human Genome Meeting (HGM) in April 2000. HGM runs from 9-12th April, we have been told we cannot host the meeting on the 9th (registration day) due to HUGO Council Meeting etc. It may be on the 8th but the date needs to be confirmed. Ideas are welcome.
