The 10th International p53 Workshop will provide in-depth discussions on the status of the field and on the prospects for therapeutic intervention. In addition, we will have plenary talks on cell cycle, DNA repair, apoptosis, signaling, protein modifications, and late breaking news about p53 and other tumor suppressors and oncogenes by world leaders in those fields.

MDI NEWS-
A meeting of the MDI was held October 19th in San Francisco U.S.A. Link to the full meeting report here.
A new working group was created with representatives of all the key stakeholders in mutation databases. Representatives from the Central databases, HUGO, M.O.D., The Law, LSDBs, Industry, NIH, Medical Genetics and Clinical genetics were invited to attend a meeting on the evening of October 18th in San Francisco to discuss plans for the self-sustainability of databases and the MDI. Since then specifications for a model database system have been drawn up and we are awaiting any changes to be made by this group. When the specifications have been accepted by the group they will be distributed to all MDI members and comments invited. The business plan will be presented for ratification at the next meeting on 9th April in Vancouver and it is planned to be implemented at the Philadelphia meeting 3rd October.CORRESPONDENCE-
